some things i found out
#1
using ugl, i have found out that:

Showing
50
100x100 boxes of pixels
randomly colored (from qb's palette of 1 to 15)
in a very dark room
in rapid succession (every .4s)

creates an error rate HIGHER than:

Showing
50
100x100 boxes of pixels
with a solid color (from qb's palette of 1 to 15)
in a very dark room
in rapid succession (every .4s)

I have found out that (at least for me), I count about 44 (instead of 50) boxes in the first test, and 49.5 (instead of 50) boxes in the second test.

What this experiment shows:
1) It shows that color recognition is faster for solid colors in the brain. (some sort of shortcut?)
and/or
2) It shows that the brain area associated with motion perception is activated during random pixel fluctuations, which is also pattern recognition.
and/or
3) Motion perception takes a longer amount of time to process than color perception in the brain and/or project to the hippocampus (long-term memory storage), if it does project.

Now, get me that MRI!

UGL is useful for scientific purposes... especially it's hi-res timer...

now pattern is almost perfect and color is a little worse.

I think it's because I adjusted to the pattern and my eyes are getting tired of the bright solid colors.
