I have a good project idea I might do. Now, I'm sure that we've all heard the racial issues... "Why aren't that many black people on TV?", "Why is there no black president?". Well, being a black person, a question of my own sprung to my head... "Why are there no black RPG game heroes?" (yes, someone like me would actually think of that) Well, that's when a hip-hop themed RPG came to mind, and I thought of some ideas, and decided that I'll probaby work on it after, or during Cobra.

What about Barret from FF7?
He wasn't the "hero", but he did have some part in the game's storyline.

Well, it's not just RPGs, they never seem appear in any fantasy games in general. Maybe you should put some black characters in Cobra, too

i guess everyone tries to make the same damned "generic" hero. so they pick the most common person they can: blond or brown hair, white, medium. why white? because though racism sucks, about 3/4 of the population in most areas (note: most) are white. so most of the people walking around suburbia or even in large crowds in the city are white.
my only real complaint is that when someone makes a black guy the main character, they go overboard, they always slap him in the inner city and have him have a bunch of friends with low-riding pants and a hubcaps chained to their neck, talking with an accent and celebrating kwanzaa every winter. a normal person with dark skin would be an interesting find. i notice the "afro man" is becoming way too popular in video games as well. i'm so sick of afro man.

Who is 'afro man'?
And yeah, talking about stereo-typing: Megaman, you shouldnt have to do a 'hip- hop themed RPG' just to have a black rpg hero. Surely that is just reinforcing stereo types!

Well, I thought a hip-hop RPG would be a pretty fun idea.

The firelava goddess and her nymph in Jill the Goddess are black
That would be cool just having different people starring a game, not the forever young blonde handsome blue-eyed white guy.
