Actually, Zack, Windows or Linux are just re-using multitasking concepts that were developed on operating systems back in the early 1960's.

Like an old friend of mine, who was in the computer business since the 1950's, used to say: "There's not many new concepts in the computer industry these days --- just new names for things that we already did years ago".

no, it doesnt appear as QB.exe, it appears under a different name but i cant remember it now nor look it up since i dont have my laptop on.

QB shows up on the process list in XP, just not as QB.exe.

rhia: i think he was more getting at the orginal ? of how progs can use vars at the same time, seemingly deleting each others variables. they cant, cause theyre 'protected' from each other
