Are there any C/C++ Close nit communities like this one on the internet?

Nope =P. C/C++ is mostly discussed on IRC. You could try allegro.cc forums. But most help/discussions are done on the #allegro channel =).

comp.lang.c and comp.lang.c++ are good sources if you want information on the standards. If you don't have newsreader or newsfeed then you can use googles handy group search: http://www.google.com/groups. There are probably a few other good newsgroups relating to C/C++ in more specific areas such as game programming and gui development.
