Finally...a solution to XP's horribly slow dos emu

Just download and install TameSetup.exe and you'll see the difference instantly! DOS boxes feel just like they did in 9x. Smile

Wow, really works too...about time someone made a working hack that actually does what it says it does. NTVDM = 0% CPU time when idle, as opposed to 35% CPU time when idle. Nice. Smile

(just for the record i have not tried it, but ive heard it works, and you can run windows 95 under windows nt if you wanted too )

I don't think there's a real time limit, it just has that popup. I cracked it for fun last night, although I'll probably just buy it anyway. (It's only $20.)

Bochs is horribly slow. Sad

Bochs is extremely slow. It isn't intended as a VMWare alternative, it's just a tool for kernel/operating system developers. So speed was never a priority. But it's got nice debugging features.

And this is worth paying for, the way it sounds.
[edit]And just for the record, XP uses a VM, not an emulator.
