C++ Music(not mine)

Did he say C? I thought it was C++ everyone was advising him to learn.
What am I doing coding with qb? Oh, is there a new version of qb? Please point me to it. Don't say VB, because aside from the syntax, they aren't completely different.

You missed my point completely, ill remake it:

What am I doing coding with turbo c++? Oh, is there a new version of it? Please point me to it. Don't say MSVC or any gcc based compiler, because aside from the syntax, they aren't completely different.

Quote:With as much as people bitch and whine about ANSI-compatability, cross-platform compatability, and other such generic mommery, rarely do I see anyone actually take advantage of said features.

I am working closely with the ANSI and POSIX standards for my Hosted Minix project. The original code (which was written for Sparc/Solaris) contains alot of innocent looking C code which either fails to compile or produces weird behaviour when compiled on i386/Linux (my target platform). The code uses clever tricks that only work on either the Sparc or under Solaris. Now that my University want to run it on Linux it is requiring a major rewrite. My goal is to make it as ANSI/POSIX complaint as possible so future rewrites are not necessary.

Most of the GNU project's software is ANSI/POSIX complaint because there applications are designed to be portable, many different Unix variants as well as Windows are usually supported.

I am guessing that even the Windows source code is fairly well standardised, as up until NT4 it was available for the Intel, PowerPC and the Alpha.

We will never know for sure unless microsoft releases some of its source code. This is a bit off topic but has anyone actually seen the leaked source code?
