nathan, yeah i agree with you that AMD are better than the P4s in the market but you must get good supporting h/w with it. Remember the largest software manufacturer whose OS runs on the worlds 96-97% desktops optimizes it for Intel and not AMD :wink:. So sensible people like us who know the actual truth use AMD.

But I've not upgraded in the past 6 years =P. But I'm happy with my PIII @ 450MHz. I can make it run faster than my friend's PIV 1.8GHz desktop(most of the times :roll: ) =).

Well, not really. Windows 2000 and Windows XP are optimized for Pentium III and Amd K7 / Athlon processors. Athlon XPs are a follow up, but Pentium IVs have so many changes that Windows 2000 and Windows XP perform really bad on them.
