Whether or not a forum password is encrypted isn't going to make me fear registration on a forum. It's not like a QB forum determines my life, and it's not like anyone can do anything with a forum password. Even if someone were to log in as me and post a buncha crap posts, people who know me know if it's me posting or not, and those who are unsure can always ask. Those who jump the gun and point the finger are the ignorant ones who I do not have the time or energy for.

In a nutshell...who gives a rat's carcass if the passwords are encrypted or not.

I'm glad to hear that. Although some people use their passwords for important thing, and so they might fear I'll use it to log into some FTP place and delete everything.

Just nitpicking...
If a language provides a known encrypting algo as php with md5, is it secure?

If anyone managed to find the decipherer for md5 text, they'd win about 500 math awards.

My idea is you can disassemble the php executable and get the cipher algo. I guess it would make deciphering easier

md5 is open-source, anyway. It's not unique to PHP. It's (mathematically proven, I believe) impossible to find a two-way function for it (one that deciphers).
