Help: Problems with a sound card
#1
I have a SoundBlaster PCI 128 card in my P4 -W2000 pc. A while ago it worked OK
One day i tried to change to a more modern SB card. Unfortunately the drivers were
unable to locate the new card, so i returned it and installed my old PCI 128 again.

The problem is all music i play with it comes now with a hideous rumble. I have
reinstalled drivers, download latest version (12 MB for as simple driver!!!) from
Creative, but the rumble is still there.

I can't play my beloved mp3 Sad

Any idea?

Try lowering the volume in the cards own drivers.

IE, if you have 100% in WhateverYouUseToPlayMusic and 100% in windows AND 100% on the cards drivers it might be too much.

Kinnda when you pump all the equalizer handles al the way to the top =)

I had the same problem, I have a built in card, don't know what it is, but it went away after I lowered the volume. IE, go half volume in windows and everything, and use the volume button on the speakers instead, it's safer, and sounds nicer.

Hey, It worked!

Thanks, Z!re!
A curious blend. 4 volume controls in cascade.... more than in an electric guitar amp!
