Meaningless thread title...so...*gasp*...annoying
#1
Anyone noticed a surplus of "help", "strange", "weird", "this problem is driving me nuts" topic titles lately?
I mean, they're useless. They might as well put the title as "This is a post in this forum".
Like, look at the title of this thread. It's a quick overview of the content.
Can everybody just agree to most meaningfull topic titles from now on?

Sometimes I change titles. But only if I have time... the golden rule is: if the title is undescriptive, why are you wasting time looking at it?

What I find most irritating is people who complain about such silly little things.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

Suit yourself. Feel free to leave the thread anytime.
Oracle: It's not that serious a problem, indeed, but sometimes those threads house very interesting topics, or questions to be answered. If there are 10 posts, each with non-descriptive titles, and you have limited time, you might end up looking at one about how someone just reached their 45th post, or one discussing a new-found bug in the error-handling of LINK. :normal:

The other big deal is when a person is needing information on 1 subject such as (example)

How do you use PRINT

compared to

??HELP??

it would make it easier to know what is there....

Isnt there a mod for checking the subject? For example we can ban certain usernames similarly we could ban certain subjects like "Please help!!!", "Help!!!!",.... but it should be intelligent enough to recognise "Help!" == "HELP!!!" == "help!!"

"I need help with page flipping"

--I'm sorry. This subject title is not allowed--

Good point. Perhaps it should simply be mentioned in forum rules?
