wtf...how can you talk about hell without getting religious?

It's quite simple really. This was meant as just a bit of humourous reading, not to start a debate on whether Christians are right or Jews are right or what-ever.

To even *think* of picking something out of a bit of humour like this just for the purpose of making a 'debate' (read: religous rant) about it it, is assinine, arrogant and mostly - retarded.

You don't hear 'Yo mamma' jokes and then start 'debates' about what diets are the best, or what schools are the best or even who's mamma is the best. No. You read it, you laugh, you go on with your day.

So, any more yammering about religion outside the context of my initial post (read: outside a theoretical place called Hell being exothermic or endothermic), and I'll talk to the admins and have this thread *deleted*, nevermind locked.

This may be the general forum, but the forum rules, which I'll remind all the "older" members that they agreed to, expressly state that if a thread delves into a hot topic it could be removed. I would not have expected jatos to have know about these rules other than in a "common sense" sort of way, so there's no harm done.

Some of us do not believe that hell is a "lake of fire and brimstone". Some of us believe that "Hel", as it is properly spelled, is a place of spiritual rest between incarnations. People live many lives, and the spirit rests in "Hel" between these lives until it has lived enough times and has accomplished all its goals in the mortal world. Then, the spirit does not take on another mortal life but instead goes to live in Elysium ("Heaven", it is known by many names but "Elysium" is by far the most common). Those of us who believe this way know that the Hell of fire and brimstone is only a means of frightening people into conformance.
