OutputDevicesTopics? (FAQ poll, sort of)
#1
So there is an InputDevicesTopics (which I made).

I dunno, but it might be cleaner to put SoundTopics GraphicsTopics and TimerTopics into a general OutputDevicesTopics.

Or, maybe just have a separation between GraphicsTopics, SoundTopics, TimerTopics, and the rest of the main menu items?

Dunno.

How is a timer output?

i would classify an input device as something that the user can use to provide input. Since a timer is actually 'sending' data at all times, i would consider it to be an output device... thats just me. someone with experience may know better. btw, plasma; any word on capn cosmo?

The TIMER is an internal service. It does not have anything to do wit I/O.

Agreed...an output device is one that the user sees/hears/feels/etc.

Captain Cosmosis is delayed until I have time to work on it...which means until this summer probably.

I'd have to disagree here. The timer is internal yet the user can see it. The user usually doesn't affect the timer. Thus it's an output device, not in the "real sense" but in the sense that ya need it to make a game. Smile

How can the user see the timer? If you display the time on the screen, the screen is the output device, not the timer.

yeah.

Output devices are devices that output data: disk drives, screen, sound card...
