Damn it! Its ok to advertise. But its *not* ok to fill someones email box with your advertisements. People are actually driven away due to such advertisements. Why cant those companies understand this simple fact?

ive never taken psych so this is purely speculation, but...

It seems that any reaction is better than no reaction. as long as your brain registers some kind of pleasure/pain associated with something, its in your brain. i think theyre just gambling on the fact that you forget about what 'linked' it there. ya know what i mean?

always i hear people say 'blahblah i hated such and such commercial... so annoying!' i always say, 'well, see that all they wanted was to get it in your head, and look! you're talking about it now'. this is probably why people write me hate mail sometimes ;D jk

they dont care how it gets into your head, as long as it is.

All I know is whenever I receive spam from a company I associate the name/logo or whatever I can remember about that company with a displeasing/bad thought. So whenever I see something similar to the name/logo of that company an unpleasent thought passes me. So naturally I will stay away from their products/services.

I am saying this from experience =P

It's simple... there are very few reasons why spam does, indeed work, and is profitable. Lets look at them quickly...
1. You can send out 100,000 emails for pretty much no cost.
2. If 1% of 100,000 people respond, and send you $5 for whatever stupid thing you have, you have made $5000 - whatever your product costs. Which is probably about 2 cents.
That's pretty much it.

it irritates the fire out of me. I recently deleted an email account with yahoo becouse of it.. what makes me the maddest is I would get 100 e-mails a day & miss something that someone wrote to me.That I wanted to see becouse I deleted al with out looking ..

They aren't getting me to buy crap after they pass me off either
