Uh Dev-C++ IS the ide. Mingw is the compiler. Mingw works exactly the same under any other IDE, your "easy multi module feature" has been implemented since the turbo C++ days (ive never had a problem with it then).

Btw, i know many people who write there code for mingw under scite and use makefiles to compile the code rather then use an actual ide. Ive never really gotten to into writing my own makefiles, since the ide does the job, but they are pretty neat things nevertheless.

If you do so, you no longer have to download dev-c++ shrinking the size down a few MB. But dev-c++ works well enough for me, but lets not confuse dev-c++ with compiler and ide, its an IDE.
