Quote:Mozilla is OK. It has its strengths and weaknessess against IE, that's for sure. I find it funny though that Microsoft hasn't put out a new IE in a long time, and Mozilla keeps on chuggin' along...

About the only weakness I can find is that web developers insist on developing soley for IE Sad. It's better in pretty much everything else. I use Firebird (havn't got firefox yet) and Thunderbird for mail, and together they're fine. And it comes minimalised so you download and install only the extensions you like.

There is a project going on called "IE7" that is to do with making IE more web standard: http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/

Unfortunately, that's a pretty hefty weakness. Sad We (Digital Blackie Services) develop with transitional HTML 4.01 and adhere closely to that standard, so our sites look the same regardless of which is used. I only wish more developers would have this kind of work ethic...
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

I develop to XHTML 1.0 strict. IE can handle it fine, just not some of the stylesheet properties, so if I want a fixed menu for example I have to use frames instead of position...

For my (recently-gone-live) project I'd been working on for a while, I developed to XHTML 1.0 strict + CSS. Of course, the first tester just had to be using NS4, didn't they  . We got that changed quicksmart... and in fact I'm in windows now and just went and had a look at it, and I'm reminded that IE even ignores margin: 0 auto; as well, unless you set a text-align of center... IE seems so pathetic now compared with firefox...

IE is a toy compared to Mozilla. Unfortunately, the vast majority of computer users are stupid and love to play with toys, and catering to them is priority #1 since they are your audience, unfortunately... Sad
