The 25 record I think was most likely set by some fool with a cookie problem browsing around...

I believe it was that day when Ask Jeeves was bombing us with multiple connections, indexing the site. It said something like 20 guests were online, and the admin panel showed the Ask Jeeves IP's connected. We tempo banned the IP to be safe, because the admin panel said it was browsing private messages -- probably it was just checking the PM link.

Before that happened, I think the online record was around 13-15.

im not gonna do it for 2 reasons
1) i have no knowledge of time zones and therefore dont know when it is
2) when i tried this last year, no one did it so i wont support it this year.

for times all ya gotta do is look at your profile where you set what time zone you live in and it'll say GMT + or - so many hours. For instance, I live in the Central Time Zone which is GMT -6:00 so, since the times are 7 am and 7 pm GMT, in CST theyre 1 am and 1 pm. get it?
