Transperencey in adobe

How do you get Transperent backgrounds or what ever in adobe Photo Shop?

well...if you are maing a new image

File>New> Then at the bottom of the new dialog choose transparent


Or, if you already have the image open (and it's in layers still) just go over to the layers box and delete the background layer, making your image transparent.
