#1
As you can see, it is not done. Also, I just recorded it on my dig. cam... I am downloadin something that may be able to convert it to audio for ya'll. Anywho, here it is: (go to bottom for more talkin)

Also you can download it here. http://forum.blissdev.com/guilt.zip

Code:
VERSE1 (not done)

  Em          D            Am            Em
I once knew a man who once said he could fly

    Em           D         C            A
He said he could give me a peice of the sky

---------------------------------------------------------
CHORUS

  D           C         G             A
I told him no you can't deny what you are

       D           Am         C            Em
You're life passes by and you haven't gone far

---------------------------------------------------------
VERSE1

  Em          D         Am           Em
I once knew a woman who had a strong name

    Em          D             C                A
She didn't understand what it was to place the blame

    Em               D         Am          Em
She told me that she wanted to live like a bird

        Em           D          C            A       Em
And she couldn't see why we all followed the herd

       Em            D        Am        Em
Well I told her, hey lady, it isn't all great

      Em         D           C          A
Yeah, some of us just cannot carry that weight

          Em                D             Am            Em
Past that day, the precious woman, no she never was the same

    Em            D              C            A      Em
She left half the woman that she was when she came

---------------------------------------------------------
CHORUS

  D             C         G             A
I told her yeah you can't deny what you are

       D           Am         C            Em
You're life passes by and you haven't gone far

Yeah, this was one of my spur of the moment bursts of creativity. Since I only been playin the guitar recently, I don't know a lot about this stuff, but I feel it's a good first try? I got stuck on the chorus and decided that for now it's good being short. The second part may sound a little weird but if you do it right it sounds pretty cool I think.

A quick thought about the lyrics:
You DON'T have follow the herd, you DON'T have to be like everyone else, in fact, it's probably a much better lifestyle if you don't.
I'm sick of people saying things like "No, you can't change a thing, you've GOT TO BE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, etc"...
It's not true.
You may not be able to change the direction the earth spins in, or bring down all crime with a swoop of your hand, but you can choose not to follow the crowd, and enjoy your life, no matter what other people think.
...Sorry, just a quick little rant there.
As far as I can tell this song's about the 'fact' that you have to follow the herd.
But, you know, that's just me...
I could be wrong.
Very wrong.

Well see, I tried to be my own person, do my own thing. But then I came into the working world and realized I can't do my own thing or be whoever I want. I MUST be the person that everyone wants me to be. Otherwise I will not survive in this world.

...Nope.
You just have to try.
Saying things like you just did... Well... It's not a way to get ahead in life. Sure, you'll be making money at a job (that you may not like at all), know popular 'friends' that you may not like either, and drive some big popular car (that you don't need), but where are you really going with this?
Personally, I'd be happy just playing music on the streets most of the time, with a part time job at some gas station or convenience store...
I wouldn't make enough money to have internet, or my own house, but hey, I'd be fine living in a tiny apartment as long as I can do what I really enjoy by day.
Playing music for some people, like me, painting for others, programming, building things, etc.
Lots of people would wonder why I set my sights on such a "low" life-- Well, it may be low for you, but for me, it'd be the kind of life I enjoy.
Even if I had the chance to lead the life you lead, or want to lead, and make enough money to afford a house, car, internet, etc... I wouldn't take it.
Because, see, I don't care what other people think.
I'm not affected by the stereotype of a 'proper' person.
I do what I want, within reason, and mainly...
That's just to enjoy myself.
So, you can live your burnt-out life, no problem here.
Just don't try to tell me it's what I have to do.

Yeah I would not mind that lifestyle either... but I have to have it now, since I have a kid to take care of and raise. And a girlfriend to do the same with.

The trick is to know when to conform and when to tell conformity to shove its thumb up its ass. Big Grin

Great song though seph Smile
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.
