I too recommend Zone alarm. I wont recommend Norton Firewall - its just too bloated!
I use Linux and I have setup its firewall on a complete stealth mode. So my machine is virtually 'invisible' on the web =P. I dont accept any pings/ICMP requests or anything =P.

Zonealarm = good
ANYTHING BY NORTON = ¡MUY MAL!
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

Well i got Norton free when i bought this comp (60 day trail) ,and my comp crashed a few times so I was able to renew it over and over again... so basically I don't have a choice on what firewall i use because i'm really short on cash (still paying off the comp).

Better to get the full version at emule
I use it in my Windows 2000 alongside McAfee antivirus and I didn't even caught that "blaster" thing.
In my XP comp I use XP's firewall and Norton Antivirus. (Ya sé: ¡muy mal!
) and I never had a problem as well.
Zonealarm is great, but I didn't need it with XP.

Just for the record, microsofts cheap built in xp firewall actaully stops the blaster worm.
at least thats the only possible explanation for me getting the virus since i only got it once i turned the firewall off.(and i got the nachi hybrid version)

Lets not promote piracy directly on these boards anymore. Im really sick of, stuff like want MSVC? dont buy it, download it! Get this cool game download it of here and here...... lets just stop it. If he wanted to pirate the stuff im sure hed be using a much higher end firewall.
Also theres no reason to go and get the pro version over the free one, your not running illegal software, and althought its a little bannery, its not exacltly advertisor run and it works great.
Most pro versions are just bloated version of their free counterparts.

I don't like piracy...
I use windows because its my families pc and i've seen a few virii attacks a month. This is ok since all of them are blocked. And i never got that blaster thing since i installed the update about a month before that blocked it.
The only spyware i get is from my family accessing bad sites and not knowing what to do, but i take care of it.
Anyway i recommend spybot, zonealarm, and regular updates/scans.
EDIT: I just realized i have 3 firewalls...

If software wasn't so bloody expensive, piracy wouldn't be such an issue. Freeware forever.
