Missing IPX.COM file, it's needed for using IPX through DOS
#1
Does anyone have this file, or know where to get it?

It's old... I had it before, but somehow it's gone missing now, weird.

What about this one?

Think it's included with old DOS games like Quake too...

It says:

Where did you get it in the first place. I have an MSDN cd set that has loads of DOS/Win 3.1 stuff on it, it may be there.

It was included on my win98 installation I think.

The weird thing is that I use the exact same computer I used to develop the program.

No changes, and it worked before, now it says missing IPX.COM...

Weird...

It is used for the Novell (i think) IPX interrupts.

Hard to say no to a great smile.

It's not on my Win98 computer or cd-rom.

I don't think it's a standard file, from what I've gathered on google, but is created special for your network card using the 'shell gen' program it comes with.

I've found some ipx.com files & pages using google, but they seem to be for a certain setup.

I don't know much about this, as you can see.Wink

Thanks Dav, but all the sites either point to specific card IPX.COM's, or to old (1992-1995) dead links =(

Ok, seeing as the file is nowhere to be found =(..

How would you get IPX to work, under pure DOS?

This is all over my head, but I read where you should use IPXODI.COM instead. I did a search on my machine and did not have IPX.COM but did have IPXODI.COM. Like I said, I don't know much about this stuff but hopefully this might help.

Also IPX.COM is created by running a program called SHGEN

I don't have IPXODI.COM either, and IPX.COM was on this computer before, now it's gone...

Anyways, could you upload IPXODI?
