As promised, I give you...

This is probably the only teaser I'm ever going to release for WOS, so enjoy:

http://www.nodtveidt.net/marcos.avi

This is the version from the RM2K build of WOS (24 bit color, 320x240 resolution). It took three days to render and four hours to build/tweak. Indeo video codec, 85% quality, 30-frame key, 15fps. It's just under 4MB in size and is a little more than 12 seconds long.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

Very nice... =)

Just one thing though.. when the demon roars.. what's the "stick" that comes out of his chin?

And the guy looks a bit weird when the the girl flashes/explodes.

Thumping wood noise on bricks? (When she falls)

But very nice overall =)

Lightyears in fron of what I could do (even under gunpoint).

The "stick" coming out of his chin is a limitation of the model I was using. Not much I could do about it, unfortunately. Sad Well...there MIGHT be...but I'm not sure. I'll see if I can fix that, as it bugs me too.

When the flash happens, he's trying to still see what's going on, but the light is too bright. Yeah I know it's represented a little weirdly, but hey...it's fantasy after all. Big Grin (yeah I know, bad excuse)

The sound is all I could find in my library. I need more impact sounds... Sad

Thanks for the feedback man Big Grin

I'd check it, but geez man, 4mb for 12 seconds? thats insane. I'm not going to be playing this game, as much as I usualy enjoy RM2k games (have you guys played three the hard way? its like 15 mb but its awesome).

Three The Hard Way is one of the best RM2K-based RPGs ever made...hands down. Big Grin

muahaha yeah.

its just so unbelievably well done. pretty much beats the crap down of a lot of commercial stuff as well.

theres this other rm2k game called Final Fantasy: Endless Nova...that was also quite impressive...not as good as TTHW but its pretty good.

Get cha0s to put music to it and then it'd be complete, heh.
I agree with the looking away from the light thing, though. The actions seem a bit too stiff and stop too suddenly.
But hey, what are you gonna do?

RM2K?

I thought you were re-porting it to QB. Oh, I see, so you took the video out of the RM2K version and you'll be adding it to the QB version? (and something comes to mind... HOW? Wink)

Good done, man. I'm all against releasing demoes. They kill the expectation.

About the animation: it's so pretty damn cool!

sorry to sound a bit late on the scene here, but what is RM2K?

Ado: great animation! What are you doing WOS in? Did it used to be in QB before you started in something else?

RM2K = RPG Maker 2000 by ASCII Corporation

WOS was originally made in GW-BASIC, then rebuilt in QB. I later ported it to RM2K to finish developing the storyline, and there's also a TurboDuo build and a Gameboy Advance build in the works...not to mention a VB6/DX version also. The RM2K version is the testing platform for the storyline. And ya...I'm re-porting it to QB Big Grin

As far as the movies go...basically, for the QB version, they get reduced to 8 bit and then played through an external player.
