Isn't the idea of General Programming covered under the new idea of Tec Talk? Sure, teck talk may mean stuff unrelated to programming, such as development of new processors etc, but it could also mean programming in general. Hence I recommend we delete, incinerate, and befoul the General Programming forum. Immediately!

first of all, you spelt 'tech' wrong twice. second of all, the "Tech Talk" and "General Programming" Forum are completely different. a new processor and help with C++ are two completely different related subjects.

Yes they are, true. But my point is that they both fall under the category of Tech Talk. And yes, I rarely have trouble spelling, but it *does* happen sometimes.

no general programming talks about... programming.
Tech Talk doesn't.

They're sufficiently different at the moment for them both to exist. "General programming" applies only to programming whereas "Tech talk" could apply to, say the latest Microsoft bungle or why I can't get sound going in linux

Personally I don't think any forums should be changed unless a lot of members want and also I would agree progging forum and techie forum are completly different.
