Re: Forum rules
#11
Lol, I am calm, sorry if I did sound upset. If I don't like the forum I'll simply leave so.

My point is that you (the admins) are acting kinnda strange, In MY opinion.

You lock topics and jump posts, even if they are perfectly valid, and did follow the rules.

You don't arrest someone for a crime that's not even a crime yet.
You make the law, and after that you arrest.

Quickhost.tk was a valid post, and Oracle realized, and it was fixd, everything is fine.

The Passion of Christ thread was very civil, no flaming/name calling and noone getting upset. Sure some posts were very "anti-religious" (including mine) but so? That's not reason to lock it, or atleast it wasn't.

And I can get pleased *drops pants* Big Grin j/k

Seriously, I don't have anything against the admins you are doing a great job, most of the time.

But when you do wrong I'm going to tell you, even if I'm the only one who thinks you did wrong.

Worst case would mean I'd have to use PM instead.

Well.... anyway you make some good points. Some of the things we do can be a little weird I suppose (especially my locking the Passion topic).

Anyway, I think we should all move past this. The rules I think should pretty much stay as they are now so as not to confuse anyone.

If any changes are made it'll basically be the creation of some "debate" forum or whatever that I really think will solve a lot of "problems" and changing the rules to say that any posts on sensitive topics go in there.

Sounds good to me anyway....

Yeah, well, as long as the rules are clear and posts aren't locked at random after random amount of time, I'm happy =)

What does that have to do with anything?

I think the rules are ok, and it's ok to enforce them as long as it's consistant and fair. For the most part, the general forum was pretty controlled. Oracle made a mistake in the quickhost, it was fixed, we moved on. I dont think closing the passion thread was the hottest idea, but I'm sure we can move on from that too. I think the important thing is to keep the channels of communication open, and know that we like this forum and we dont want people to leave because of silly things like this. If things get out of control, then by all means, please step in. But if things are running smoothly, then feel good that everyone is behaving and enjoying the forum. If it aint broke, dont fix it Wink

I think what Rhiannon meant was: What does your posts got to do with anything in this thread, besides bashing me?

Grow up.

Yeah, I forgot.

Apparently he do have time to quote us and say more useless stuff.

[Imagine long [Name here, guess who] bashing post here, I'm just too lazy]

Just saw the misc. forum.

If only the admins would have been clearer about not completely removing the general talk. It did sound like you were transforming this into a pure QB forum, that is, no offtopics, no birthdays aso.

Misc might work, we'll just have to wait and see.

And the reason so many people got upset is because we come here, not only to post about programming, but to "hang" with our friends, and that is kind of hard to do if you're only allowed to talk about one thing.
I have friends here (noone say anything, let me have my imagination left) and I would like to be able to tell them various things, or discuss some every day happening.

I appologize for being so, "harsh" in my previous posts, but ripping apart a big part of the qmunity like that is... well... it's shocking! =)

^^^ That's exactly the type of undercurrent that isn't really helping the forum right now...

For goodness sake, all we ask is that if you've got beef with another member you do it somewhere else instead of dragging topics offtopic...

And I know I'm gonna get a round of "but these things should be in the open" posts, and my reply is: Fine, but not when you're ruining a thread for others! This thread is about "Forum rules discussion", and while it's fine to get offtopic it shouldn't end up off topic because two members are arguing among themselves!

If you two have still got beef with each other, just take it elsewhere, OK?
