If you don't allow people to have general conversations then this forum won't be part of the qmunity, mainly, because this forum will quickly become a:
Pot here when you are bored or need some help but don't really give a damn cause this is a sterile place where everyone is anonymous.

While you're at it, make registering forbidden, that way there can't really be no flamewars cause noone knows who they are talking to.

I wasn't joking. red_Marvin specifically asked about legacy support ("old stuff like DOS etc"), which directly relates to programming in QB.

I said, in the general forum, that it wasn't closed permanently. I know general topics are important, hence the creation of the forum in the first place. It however was created a long time ago and needed some updating.

Its perfectly relevant. Besides 90% of the people here dont even actively code in QB, and without topics like that, it would be very quite.



And on the spliting of the general forum, i think its kinda pointless, i mean before i only had to visit one board, and now theres another new board, it makes it even longer to visit all the sections, and this forum doesnt exactly need even more sections....


But i wouldnt mind if you started a whats better thread, the general programming forum has become:

whats better? JAVA or PYTHON? C or C++? Qb or VB? etc etc etc, i think you get the point. (Im joking, but seriosly we do need more original topics, i mean TRY THEM out instead of asking. heck most of the posters dont even listen to the advice and conitnue using thier own program anyway......

Bluffer: Why can't you post here anymore? There have been a lot of changes, but the net result has been very little change. You are most welcome to post.

When I try to click on the (What I supose is the Genearal board) it tells me that I have to have speacial permissison to post or to veiw it there.
I aint no computer major so I go get help to figure out how to join in again & It gives me a bunch of 504s or 540s or whatnot to join member groups.

I don't even know which one is the real general board .
