bad file mode

Every time I save a file in qb4.5 and try and open it at school on qb 1.1 this error occurs. Is it to do with the versions?

When saving in QB45 use the option "Save As Text". By default QB4x saves in an odd tokenized binary format to save time (QB tokenizes the code when it loads it, so if it saves the code tokenized then it loads faster; that was useful in 1987, but now it doesn't make much sense).

Now that he got his answer, let me ask: Anyone got a description of the tokenized format, or a convertor or something? I would love to find a way to be able to load them from VB.

Well, just save it as text. But there is a converter at http://qbnz.com/pages/downloads/utilities/index.html.

It doesn't work with files saved by Qb45. But thanks anyway.
