QB 4.5 is hard to find because it is a commercial product copyrighted and sold by MS, as opposed to QBasic, which was distributed free with DOS and Windows 9x.

QB 4.5 is very easy to find:
http://billymiller.web1000.com/ http://thegeekery.web1000.com/ http://geocities.com/aliphax/ And many other places. Oh, and Microsoft no longer sells, distributes, or supports QBasic, QuickBasic, BASIC, BASICA, etc.

How would Microsoft ever have sold or distributed BASIC? It's a language. They didn't invent it. They never owned it. As for supporting it, did they finally abandon VB? And it would be REALLY strange for them to have ever supported BASICA. *That* was an IBM product.

It wasn't clear to me that *you* knew what you meant. (And I've never understood why people don' t just say what they mean in the first place. It really isn't that hard.)

Alright, alright:
Microsoft no longer sells, distributes, or supports the BASIC, QBasic, or QuickBasic compilers and interpreters. As for VB: QB and VB are different languages and programming environments. I hate it when people lump QB/BASIC in with VB. They may share some commands and functions; They may even share the same syntax. But they are not the same language. At all

Well, I think they're the same language: BASIC (Beginners All-Purpose Symbollic Instruction Code), but in different dialects.
