QB 4.5 is hard to find because it is a commercial product copyrighted and sold by MS, as opposed to QBasic, which was distributed free with DOS and Windows 9x.

QB 4.5 is very easy to find:

And many other places.

Oh, and Microsoft no longer sells, distributes, or supports QBasic, QuickBasic, BASIC, BASICA, etc.

Freebasic is like QB, except it doesn't suck.

How would Microsoft ever have sold or distributed BASIC? It's a language. They didn't invent it. They never owned it. As for supporting it, did they finally abandon VB? And it would be REALLY strange for them to have ever supported BASICA. *That* was an IBM product. Smile

It wasn't clear to me that *you* knew what you meant. Smile (And I've never understood why people don' t just say what they mean in the first place. It really isn't that hard.)

Alright, alright:
Microsoft no longer sells, distributes, or supports the BASIC, QBasic, or QuickBasic compilers and interpreters.

As for VB: QB and VB are different languages and programming environments. I hate it when people lump QB/BASIC in with VB.
They may share some commands and functions; They may even share the same syntax. But they are not the same language. At all Smile

Well, I think they're the same language: BASIC (Beginners All-Purpose Symbollic Instruction Code), but in different dialects.
