3D in c++ what to do
#11
Quote:Everyone says that OpenGL is 3782489324892734 times easier to learn than Direct3D.
Also some people say opengl is a little faster than direct x, becuase you can do some things with it. Anyways on my comp, opengl smokes directx for speed.

Quote:It looks like allegro can be directx accelerated, and that's just
set up when you decide screen mode, is this possible to use?
I mean, directX should conquer with opengl if it wasn't messed up
totally and only for windows, then for me I only use windows and
windows users is my first target group, and I don't have to
learn anything/less than much extra special code as for me opengl looks VERY hard...
Looks like your blabbering a bit, im not sure what you mean. Ive looked at some opengl code recently becuase im going to try it, and it doesnt look difficult at all. GLUT makes things even easier, if you want to use that. Your just going to want some knowledge of windows coding (eg, winmain and lresult callback functions).

And to clarify, allegro uses direct X Draw, not direct 3d, and all allegro polygon routines are none accelerated.
