well, ya, for the most part, unless the program uses encryption (why it would I have no idea).

Yeah, but if the picture file is stored in a binary file, which is usually used (as webberboy said) for encryption, or for compression, then if you try to edit the file it will become corrupted, because notepad, edit, and all the others save as text rather than binary. I personally prefer Binary to ASCII files, but sometimes you need to use ASCII for certain reasons, the main one being so that you can edit in notepad, etc. :bounce:

Or MOoEdit XMS blocks...

I'd imagine an exe would produce alotta blocks...
have you ever tried tim truman's sprite 2.0? It's not bad. too bad it's shareware... you can only save 4 sprites at a time.
