I've been researching the possibility of using a windows driver to facilitate communication between DOS and Windows programs. I seem to recall seeing something that worked in this manner in the past... Does anyone have a reference on that?
Anyway, the proposed method at the moment is to create a new port (like an lpt port) with a different designation. WIN: has been suggested, for example. I think this is a wonderful idea, if it works, and right now I am looking for anyone who has ANY information on the subject. I am currently digging through the 98 and 2000 DDK, especially the printing samples, and I think this might actually work based on what I am seeing, but it's going to take a tremendous amount of research, so don't expect results instantly, if ever
If someone wants to tell me this is impossible, do so now, otherwise I'll be at it forever
