I like the music from Duke Nuk'em. :bounce:

I think that it's by Megadeth, but I'm not sure... anyone know...or like the game?

To all of you:

Yo, a splendidly wonderful new week to all of you, and I hope all of you are truly enjoying your favorite arcade/PC/console game music so far!!! Big Grin !

I want to let all of you know right now that currently on Emusica, while the music tracks from some arcade games like ESP Ra.De., Tatsujin Oh/Tatsujin II/Truxton II, Chase H.Q. and Stike Fighter have for now been removed, for the week of July 25, 2004, do enjoy all of the original music tracks from the following arcade games:
  • • Aurail (Sega/Westone; 1990; Arcade)
    • Battle Garegga (Raizing/Eighting; 1996; Arcade, just listen to these ROCKING, excellently composed pulse-pounding shmup house/techno mixes!!! Big Grin !! )
    • Butasan (Jaleco; 1987; Arcade, there is already a game like this that was created using QB entitled Squealer TNT, and there is a possible download of it being found right here!)
    • Atomic Runner Chelnov (Data East; 1988; Arcade)
    • Contra / Gryzor (Konami; 1987; Arcade)
    • Dangun Feveron / Fever SOS (Cave; 1998; Arcade, *AWESOME* 70’s disco/rock music!! Wink ! )
    • Darius (Taito; 1986; Arcade)
    • Full Throttle / Top Speed (Taito; 1987; Arcade)
    • Gardia (Sega/Coreland; 1986; Arcade, BRAND-NEW ON EMUSICA!)
    • Metal Black (Taito; 1991; Arcade)
    • New Rally-X (Namco; 1981; Arcade)
    • Pengo (Sega; 1982; Arcade)
    • Psychic 5 (Jaleco; 1987; Arcade)
    • Rush & Crash / The Speed Rumbler (Capcom; 1986; Arcade)
    • Super Locomotive (Sega; 1982; Arcade)
    • Super Stingray (Alpha Denshi; 1986; Arcade)
    • T.M.N.T. Turtles In Time (Konami; 1991; Arcade)
.........all while *all* of the original arcade tracks from Ray Force/Gunlock, R-Type, Thunder Cross II, Detana!! Twinbee/Bells & Whistles, and some other games are for now still intact for your listening pleasure! And people, when I said from the very opening of this original thread that there will be MORE games fresh from the arcade available to you at Emusica within the coming weeks, I wasn’t kidding!! ^_- ! And, if any of you haven’t even tuned in to this station, you are missing an awful lot here, so please join in and relive those SPECTACTULAR memories!!!

And to NovaProgramming (and any of you might want to listen to this, too!):

Well, I have just today listened to some original music from the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive RPG smash entitled Phantasy Star IV, and guess what? THEY TOTALLY ROCKED, *especially* where Genesis/Mega Drive music is concerned!! Big Grin ! Four of the game’s tracks (“Her Last Breath”, “Laughter”, “Ooze”, “Motabia Village”) are mightily excellent examples of how fine game music is to be created, as they are all dramatic, touching, gut-wrenching, and beautiful at the same time in a pretty major way, I gotta say!!! Cool

And, to listen to the many of the original tracks from Phantasy Star IV, here is what you do:
  • 1 • Go to GamingFM (Classic Console) by accessing the web site http://classic.gamingfm.com/.

2 • On the top of the GamingFM (Classic Console) web page, go to a small button called “Live Requests” and click it.

3 • On the list of games, select “Phantasy Star 4 -- [Genesis]”. Click “Search” located right next to that list.

4 • There, you will see the list of the MANY songs available for Phantasy Star IV. You may request any of them you want by clicking the word “Request” right next to the title of the song you desire, but remember now, you are allowed ONLY TWO (2) REQUESTS PER HOUR, please.

5 • After you have requested your songs, go to the either the buttons “Listen to 128k Stream” or “Listen to 24k Stream” to try to listen to GamingFM (Classic Console). Once successful, enjoy the station!! Now then, wait for your song(s) to come up, and once they do so, kick back and enjoy the music as well!! Cool
One final thing. It is possible that you can listen to GamingFM on at least Windows Media Player, RealOne Player, WinAmp, and XMplay as well, so real good fortune to you on this station, too!! ^_^ !

Thank you all so gladly much, and remember, do keep on rocking to those game music memories!!! ;*) !!

Do you really think they are listening to it all the time?

To HQSneaker:

I gotta be especially honest here. From my last post, I don’t necessarily mean that people listen to either station all the time and that is it. Come on. Of course people got other varieties of stuff to do besides just one thing alone, as the listening of either station is *entirely* up to them for themselves. I mean, they are just as free to choose what they like to do as you and I are, and I cannot deny that. That is all I am saying, HQSneaker. That is all. Big Grin

No harm, no foul. Cool ! Talk to you later now.

"Her Last Breath" (Alys' death scene), "Laughter" (Lashiec battle music), and "Ooze" (final boss music) are the greatest soundtracks in Phantasy Star IV, with "Ooze" easily being the best. Smile Other good ones include "Cybernetic Carnival" (combat theme for vehicles) and "Behind The Circuit" (dungeon theme for certain areas). There were two musicians on the PS4 project, and although the musics blend well together, you can tell who did what from their different styles of composition.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

To Adosorken:

Man, I *must* tell you that you are definitely correct on that one. Big Grin ! And you are 100% correct as well that there were indeed two (2) musicians that composed the outstanding music for Phantasy Star IV, and those two wonderful people were:
  • • Izuho Takeuchi
    • M. Nakagaki
(The both of them also did the sound effects for Phantasy Star IV, too! Wink )
And Adosorken, look, I have got to gladly tell you something else about Izuho Takeuchi himself. :king: He is also the man who has teamed up with Yoshiaki Kashima to do the sound program for Phantasy Star IV itself. As well, he was apparently credited for MANY of the other musical works for the following games:
  • » Mega Man 7 (Capcom; 1995; Super NES/Super Famicom)
    » Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Sega; 1992; Genesis/Mega Drive)
» Phantasy Star III (Sega; 1990; Genesis/Mega Drive)
» Forgotten Worlds (Capcom (reprogrammed by Sega); 1989; Genesis/Mega Drive)
What a guy, huh? ;*)

Just wanted to let you know of some fascinating material like that, and thank you so much. ^_- !
