Background where?

In windows?

This forum is about programming, but anyways...

In windows you just select it, may have to enable "web-desktop"..

In QB, you need to find a JPEG loader, and use that, or convert the JPEG into BMP and load that (using a loader)...

save the file in GIF format, and google : "QBASIC GIF LOADER"

Antoni Gual wrote a nice JPEG viewer.

I adapted it to Future.lib. If you can use that lib, check this: http://usuarios.lycos.es/qbsux/jpegfutu.html
