Site down?
#1
The site was down for sometime. Was it a regular server reboot or a crash?

Just wondering...

It appears the server crashed. Unfortunately I don't have much info on the frequency of downtimes personally, but I'm looking for a program to help keep a check on things.

But what caused the crash? I know of programs which SMS you immediately if your site goes down. But that will cost you extra cash =P.

I'm on a shared server at the moment, sometimes some wild scripts overload the server. Downtimes shouldn't be very long, but they still too frequent for my liking(hopefully I'll be getting a dedicated server soon).

normally servers have a guarenteed uptime rate, so if you find that out then u could make a percentage of how long the downtime is and percentage, then if it is an england company you can have them fined for breaking trading regulations.
