dont know if this is possible

I'll look into adding it if theres enough demand? So who would like to see it, or not see it? Bearing in mind it will add to the size of stuff to download so may be bad for people on slower connections? Thoughts?

The ALT tag here is the tooltip text. When you hover your mouse over the image, you'll see some text in a yellow box. You can add multiple lines in the TTT box, so maybe it's applicable to the matter in this thread.

One thing.. the ALT tag is NOT the tooltip text... TITLE is. ALT means alternate, as in if the image somehow cant be displayed.

Another thing IE did for html...

Nothing personal Wink Just clearing out a common mistake.

The downside to using the title attribute is that you have you have to download the first 5 sentences of every post in the page. It might be acceptable with broadband, but it's a lot of text to store in each link tag.

the sites i went to that had this only showed the first couple sentences of the very first post... that way, if someone had a thread name, that really didnt tell you what it was about, you could get the basic idea of it. then decide if you want to go there or not. you see?

I could probably whip this up pretty easily. And I could make it so that you could turn it on/off via your profile panel. How does that sound? Smile
