Soundcard help needed

I looked around and figured this was the best place to ask this. I just got my old computer running and have been having trouble with the soundcard. Its an Avance ALS4000 and I'm using it's Soundblaster emulation. The problem is it will take and cut out the sound on any game after a short, random amount of time. Any help would be appreciated.

Try changing your IRQ and/or DMA channel.
