Honestly, I don't see how Linux is much better than Windows, except for the fact that is open sourced. To be able to operate Linux and configure is supposedly very complicated, so I see why the majority computer experts here favor Linux(and dislike Windows?) . But the majority of the world does not know how to work Linux, so Windows > Linux

but out of all seriousness now, You people make me sick. You complain about how dumb microsoft is, when your the ones ordering a bunch of copies of something you don't even need. Kudos to the genius who thinks he's better than microsoft because he costs them money for envelopes... Kudos.

It depends:
If you're doing it because you think Windows sucks, or think Linux is better, then you really are insane. Windows has it's faults, but that hardly justifies attacking Microsoft.
On the other hand, if you're doing it because Microsoft:
1. manipulates the computer hardware market with licensing and pricing tactics to make it very difficult for manufacturers to stay in business unless they ship their computers with Windows, and only Windows.
2. strategically buys out software companies or their software that were previously Linux or Mac friendly to make them Windows-only.
3. deviates from industry standards in ways that lock users in, instead of complying with inudstry standards in good faith
etc... then I can understand, but you still shouldn't be taking the law into your own hands. Better to combat Microsoft's unethical business practices in ways that are ethical, mature, and legal.

1. i'm running windows 2k
2. my cd drive is broken
3. when i decide to become unlazy and do something that someone suggested in the cd drive replacement topic, i'm installing the red hat cd's i downloaded onto my comp.
