My Sprite Thread.

His left hand is "picking an apple"
and his right hand is "holding an apple"

Think of it like that, makes sense, looks right. And is a fighting pose.

I dunno, I don't see anything wrong with the hands...

But the flying kicking dude, his legs are wrong.

I agree with Rockuman. The thumb is fine. I think that you guys are looking at it wrong. The thumb is sticking straight out. The angle at which we are viewing it makes it look like it is on the other side.

it looks brilliant apart from the foot that is pulled to his body, the fodd shoot be pointing the same way as the direction of the kick

There is no pleasing you... is there? And besides, I've seen plenty of people kick with their foot down. Maybe not to that extreme (which is the actual error of the drawing), but clearly down...

Here's a "less painful to look at" version. But since it's a completely different kick than I was going for, later updates will be me trying to attempt to get the first one right.

I decided to sorta model what the jump kicking guy is doing, to see if what he's doing is possible.

1. The left foot can't go completely down like that unless his ankle is broken. I myself could barely get my foot sideways, and i'm pretty flexible.
2. his arms kinda look weird... the fleshy bits not the clothes. his right arm looks kinda curved, and the left arm looks like he has a tennis ball for part of his arm, right where the arm meets the shirt.
3. He has no shoulders. That's also something i noticed as well. Either that or really small shoulders.

Well, you complained about how only nek was the only one to comment on your art. Now your complaining about how nothing pleases us? Perhaps nothing pleases you. Wink

I was talking about TBBQ... and his one-lined "WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS" posts... I appreciate everyone else's posts, since they don't make me feel like I've done everything wrong by pointing out just one thing...

haha, rocku you cant take criticism. Try the pose yourself. I think you will find, as barok said, impossible to get your foot down in that position. The foot will turn sideways at the most.

haha, bbq you cant give criticism. If I didn't want criticism, why did I make this thread? I'm definitely not planning to show anything here off.

"How is his foot pointing down" isn't very helpful at all, especially when I was able to get my own foot down about 15 degrees. Telling me "How the heck is his foot pointing down 80 degrees!??!?!" would have annoyed me, but I wouldn't have anything to say about it, because that's actaully the problem. Look at your first post in the thread. Depsite the fact that it was a useless version of technically what barok said, THAT is a good post. Your second one... was not.

But hey, since I'm taking your critique like such a baby, how about you just ignore me since I don't deserve your words of wisdom. That'll show me...

I have an idea. Why don't you make about a dozen frames animating the kick? Maybe some people just don't see it the way it's meant to look. Do you know what I mean? Like with a 3D wireframe cube... Some people see it as concave, while others see it as convex.
