Future of QB

Just wanted to know what you guys think QB's future would be like. It seems the QB gaming scene in general is 10 - 15 years behind, does that mean in 10 years Qb programmers will be making stuff that is considered modern now?

We've already seen some pretty impressive stuff (eg. Nebula CTF, Zero-G).

By my opinion to many people in QB community want to make or are makeing "hip" freeware games.You know,3D.Pushing the limits of QB.Imitating the rest of freeware scene.

Great number of nowadays 2D freeware games have sprites made from 3D objects.I just don't like it.An art is being lost.

I just hope that the tradition of 2D game design in QB will remain and not just from the side of newbies who are learning and from people who are too lazy to learn 3D libraries and scripts for QB.
