It is somewhat ironic however, that freeBASIC - the future of QB - may also spell the death of clumsy blue-screened relic we've all come to know and love. Such is the nature of progress.. freeBasicNews, anyone?
In a world without walls and doors, who needs Windows and Gates?

Hi WD, thx ;)
Still there are loads of things do write tho, that's just the beginning, heh
Now great high-color/high-res graphics, sound and multiplayer support on games won't need hacks anymore, not taking into account there's plenty of resources to use.. source-codes can be as big as you can write ;)
Looking forward to see your games ported to FB.. someone write a DQB wrapper or something, heh, j/k (really!).

With this, I'm stopping the production of LSS' two major RPG projects (Wrath Of Sona and RGB) in MSVC and using freeBASIC for them as soon as it's ready. It's far easier for me to accomplish game development in a language I'm very familiar with and with libraries I'm very familiar with (TinyPTC and Bass).
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

To me, its already competes with MingW speed wise.

VC++ easily surpasses mingw in terms of speed though, if the code is written properly.
But regardless, having a BASIC compiler on-par with a C/C++ compiler is a hell of a feat in and of itself, and can easily be used to shut up the moron C++ snobs.

Well, that's true also...and why I hate 99.999999999999% of C++ coders because they're ALMOST ALWAYS LIKE THAT.

Considering that 99% of professional coders in America know some form of C++, that's a harsh statement towards programmers in general. It's just people who actually do real coding don't run around on forums because they already code for 8 hours a miserable day. But even then most of the people who go on forums to code go on C forums or general programming forums to give help or ask questions.
So to summerize, 99.9999% of C coders, who don't code for a living, who visit forums, nay, basic forums without any intention of programming some sort of BASIC, are tuppin' jackasses.
Anyone who says "my language is better than yours" is a moron, doesn't matter what language, you could be comparing batch programming to Javascript, that's a generally dumb thing to say. BASIC forumgoers are no exception.
