The new forum has been installed but not configured, and since our email server is still a little flaky, it will be a little longer until I'm able to open the new TBN. Once Rhiannon and I get back from work this afternoon, I'll set up all the forums and finish configuring TBN, and hopefully by then the mail servers will be working. Dunno why they're not working right now but that's another story. Anyways, slowly but surely, things are coming back together. However, this has definately been a severe inconvenience for our clients as well as ourselves, and it is the fault of the datacenter. It is likely that we will move to a different datacenter within the next couple of weeks.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

Update: even before we've left, the mail servers are working again. Hopefully they stay that way. TBN will be back up and running in its new incarnation tonight.
Unfortunately, as most of you have probably already figured out, the old TBN is no more.
Nothing I can do about that for the time being.

The Basic Network is now re-opened with new forum software. It will take a few days to get everything "interesting" again at TBN, but at least the new forum is running. The server still has some kinks in it, but so far, the TBN account has been unmolested by them. Let's just hope it stays that way.

Cool. Excellent choice of forum software, BTW 8). One of the devs is a friend of mine, so I hear a lot about SMF.

Because, y'know, that was certainly his fault.

forum.basicnetwork.net no longer exists. Just go to the main domain.
As voted on by the TBN community, I removed the site frontend and am going to run TBN as a forum-only site from now on. The forum software we chose will cover just about everything the original site covered anyways.

Update: all the original smileys are back!
Presently restoring the entire original avatar gallery, there's over 2000 files so this may take awhile...
EDIT: Original avatar gallery restored.
