Not neccessarily, v1ctor is the inventor of FreeBasic. He has his own goal descriptions what is FreeBasic to him. In WikiPedia, it should be describe more than what I've said above. That's only part from me which one that never used QB, VB and C/C++.
Someone with more experienced with both 16bit and 32bit Basic compiler should describe better what FreeBasic in general term for anyone who just found FreeBasic and to know what is it's purposes and programming scope coverage.
You might need/want to add the DOS and Linux version descriptions too.
Quote:woa... IMHO this went way to far. What I mean is the only successfully coming out to surface and go beyond limitations of QB which is only limited to 16bit output. I've seen many projects on the Net trying to produce a QB replacement compiler. Only FreeBasic is surface out to public and instantly you'll see all the wonders from QB's running on Win 32bit OS only within a couple of weeks after it's released. It's a complete successful for Open-Source products. You like it, I like it. Whats more to complaint? The rest is just progress...

I agree on that. But before that I just contribute a start-up perspective from a new user since no such things has been started. I may say, let me start with one. Then if more statements added to describe about what is FreeBasic, one with Native English speaker would compile the best descriptions about what is FreeBasic and put it into WikiPedia.
