Audio problem!
#1
Hay. Smile ,. I have a Sound Max Intergrated Audio driver.. but here recently, my whole comp went down.. It converted almost to like Safe Mode 24/7.. I fixed that problem, so to explain..

It damaged several picture files I had as Icons wallpaper, but it aslo brought down my audio 100%.. I was curious, the System Manager says it running fine,.. would ne one here know what might be my problem?

Thanks in advance!

You probably need to reinstall the audio driver. You could also run dxdiag. Just goto start menu/run and type dxdiag. Try and run the sound and music test utilities. Other than that, I don't know. I have SoundMax too. Wink

Smile , yeah, this comps so old I really grew up on it,.. got it when I was,.. hmm,. 13-14,. and I'm 18 now.... point taken,. its had a rough life, and it lost tons of its power in a mega crash long ago...

I'll try the dxdiag,. ,. I'll feel better when I hear something tho.. Big Grin

As for reinstalling, seems I can't get it to do that, It just says nothings wrong,. :???: ,. oh well...

I think he meant reinstalling the entire OS.

You should be able to uninstall and then reinstall the audio drivers... in Device Manager, right click on the device and do "uninstall", then delete the driver .drv and .dll files and reinstall the drivers - probably a good idea to get the latest from somewhere like here.

Well it also doesn't help that it can't find a replacment drive, I did get back there to it, but I don't have the original solfware it seems.. :-? , oh well,.. I need a new every thing,. its only a 9gig, and only 1 is left.. Maybe I could one day own a 600gig,.. hehe.. 8)

But it has to be something knocked out of place, like I said, it happened after a crash one day... Any1 have a idia what that might be?
