you _did_ rebuild the thing to get the new .a file, right? i think we'd be able to get menus to work easily if you replaced the menu.cxx file with the older 1.10 version (
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/wx...iew=markup), since it was the last version before they killed the wxmenus and replaced them with wxmenubases. (i'd do it myself, but it doesn't like me very much

first gui program that does something cool in fb and uses wx menus:
Download wxfbirc.zip (a gui "frontend" to marzec's irc interface) i couldn't talk any wx-type threads into working, so i just used fb ones
. unfortunately, i could only get one menu item to actually do anything, because the only thing it responds to is wx_frame

all that stuff, plus coloring, has been implemented. i just have to figure out why opening new tabs under the second thread crashes before releasing it.

the private message bug has been fixed. also, focus no longer shifts to different tabs when a new message is received. instead, you are notified in the (second) status bar. a bunch of other bugs also fixed thanks to the many beta testers i got
