.BAS to .EXE

i know im a newbie but is there a way to take your .BAS files and turn them into .EXE files so they can run on other comps that dont have qbasic?
his world has been connected...

Yep. QuickBASIC (not QBASIC) has a compiler which produces EXEs. QuickBASIC 4.5 is probably the most similar to QBASIC.

Once you have QuickBASIC installed, make sure full menus are enabled (Options -> Full Menus) then choose Run -> Make EXE File, check "Stand Alone EXE File" and then choose "Make EXE".

Ya just make sure you have a backup .bas file.

Once you make an exe file you can't convert it back....I learned it the hard way, but fortunatly Plasma pointed out my mistake. :wink:

There is no need to backup your .BAS file. QB doesnt touch the BAS file, it just compiles it into an EXE.

But it is good to backup anyway since QB messes up from time to time
and it's ALWAYS safer.
