Me and Editors, I wipped out BA-SIC MU-SIC 1 & 2 both in the same month.. But I've taken fancy to ASCII text maps and I'm writing a editor for ASCII maps, well made a big dent on it, all functions work. All I need to do is code the help (HTML, much nicer than NotePad. ), and edited some examples with it..
I'm curious, how many ASCII text aventure writers would love a Map Editor? Post you comments (REM, lol) here, and wait if you want one. More than one has probaly been made, I'm doing this for the heck of it...

I'm working on one, but I already made a editor. I know that you could make one for DARKWOODS, cause everyone wants to make their own levels with that :bounce: .

Does DarkWoods support optional map data? Cause I wouldn't mind making it compatible with it if it can...

Maybe in update versions, the one I'm on prob won't support all the tiles in DW, have to play the game and see what it uses.

ive been working on an ascii paint program that lets u paint wih a mouse and save to a file, then you can just load the 'image file' with 1 line of code. it handles color and all that good stuff.
i also conveted it into a map edit for an ascii game im working on called dragon quest. i can post the downloads when they are done. (about 80% right now)
ill see if i can post a few screenshots for ya
