Sorry for the bad subject on this post. What I'm looking for is a program (free) that can make a short movie (record something that is displayed on the monitor). Making a small movie when I play a game or just typing some text...the outcome should be .avi or .mpg

I think I once had a program that did this....but my memory is as bad as my spelling... :wink:

I found a few:
Virtual Dub
Capital F Free (as in GPL), looks like it can record AVI files from the screen/desktop.

Avid Free DV
The free version of Avid's video editing software.

DebugMode Wax
Freeware, seems to be geared toward special effects.

Also, I found a video editing software related site that has a huge directory of video editing/decoding/encoding software. They also seem to have a very active forum.
