QB Express Issue #8 Now Available
#11
Heh that Firefox bug is probably something dodgy in your CSS.

Firefox has never rendered this mag correctly for me.

You didn't review Opa Opa Sad

Awesome issue though :d

Na_th_an: I looked back at some previous issues, and it turns out that IE was always getting rid of the indenting on all the code boxes. So back to the drawing board on that one. There's got to be some way to fix it.

aetherfox: Nah, it's definitely a FireFox bug. The gray boxes appear completely at random. Sometime they're there, sometimes they're not. If you press refresh or scroll-wheel click within a codebox div, they disappear.

And if I can get somebody to write a review of Opa Opa for you, I will. I don't personally have the time to do it myself, so it all depends on volunteers.

I'm surprised that the grey box shows up even in the latest build of FireFox...and even after the mozilla foundation already knows about the error that causes it (it's a bug in Gecko). Ah well. Great read anyways. Big Grin

And Pete...V Planet was made "open" by voice of the Qmunity, that's why it was put up in its new form. The people wanted to see it as it was constructed, to see how things developed in "real time". I just didn't expect to get burned out working on it as well as many other things at once, so I had no choice but to step back for awhile and put everything on hold. Things are settled down now though, and this weekend will bring a continuation of work on the new V Planet.
I'd knock on wood, but my desk is particle board.

I can't believe you actually print QB Express off every month. I would never dream of doing such a thing, and I'm the editor.

It's just sad to see that there are so many...substandard articles. Terrible presentation, horrible writing...I don't like to see such a good magazine tarnished by third-rate stuff.

I really think you need to rethink your policy and maybe not include everything that comes through to you. I would much rather see a magazine half the size of this with awesome, focused and useful articles rather than a magazine twice the size of this with poor articles.

Then again, I'm not the editor, I'm just one guy. I voiced my opinion.

Yeah, but who's to judge what is good and what is bad? One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Plus, from the very start I was committed to making this an open community magazine dedicated to free speech. The tagline is "A magazine by the QB community, for the QB community." If I block certain people from writing for it, then it will just become another ego-patter for the "elite" in the QMunity, paying no mind to the little guy. Trust me, it's happened before (just ask Nek to tell you about QB:TM toward the end). There's no way in hell I'm gonna do that to QB Express.

Like I've said many times before, nobody's forcing you to read it. If you don't like an article, skip it. If you don't like the whole magazine, don't read it.
