That's a nasty trick. Use a Javascript to try to access images on the viewer's floppy drive repeatedly.

I posted in another thread that a pal of mine who runs our official club site at

http://www.hastings-electronics-radio-club.net/

claims no Firewall can be trusted, as they only block the Internet port, and so he reckons he can get into anyone’s printer port, though he is not the type to want to do so. Seems that is what this guy at workscited.htm is doing to a floppy drive. Mind you every time I switch on/off Norton, insists on checking my Floppy drive, so the avoid the racket the floppy drive creates when empty, I always keep a floppy disk inserted,

ANY comments on the above club site would be very welcomed, and likewise on my publicity site below, which cannot have any advertising that might upset the local newspaper, when asking for club reports to be published.

Sure, we all know that computers connect to the internet using the printer port. This is a nonsense, it's like claiming that someone can break into my computer using the power-on led Wink.

I guess you mean that people can break into computers using things like printer sharing. That's different, and can be stopped with firewalls or simply deactivating printer sharing as a Windows service.

Yeah, no firewall can be trusted if a persisting hacker really wants to break it. Every protection scheme can be broken, sooner or later. But I doubt that someone wants to put the time and the effort it takes to simply break into your computer. So you can be confident.

I've been two years usign ZoneAlarm and I had 0 problems. And you can bet I visit nasty pages. I.e. warez, you dirty-minded readers Wink Big Grin
