Basic4gl pictures good, but the fact that you can't use SUBs or FUNCTIONs make it suck big time.

In fact, I'm waiting until the developer decides to add those

yeah, i'll second that, basic4gl is cool, but the lack of functions, more advanced sound support, networking are all a kindof bummer, but it is a kool little language. i dabble w/ it just for fun sometimes...

people keep asking me why i even like it.. well, here' the story.. when i first got really into programming, it was because of darkBASIC.. i loved it.. i bought a book by primedia press, and just went to town w/ it.. i discovered shortly after that i liked openGL better than directX... i was a little sad about that..then i found basic4gl.. it rescued me from darkBASIC lol.. i really dont like darkBASIC :lol: so, thats where i came from, i went from b4gl to freebasic.. i like fb better, but i just cant seem to abandon b4gl.. and the developer tom, says he's working on a soundlib + networking + functions.. so, that'll all be ther + its all open source.. so you could work on your own features if you wanted :bounce:
