Cant get FB to work

I download FB from www.freebasic.net and I have tried just about everything but I am stumped how do you work it, it wont even open

freebasic is a command line compiler like all compilers you use the command line to pass the file to compile to the compiler. i.e.

FBC source.bas
will compile source.bas to source.exe


if you want an IDE use fbide has a installer pluse has fbc package with it
