Even a n00b can program a RPG, allow me to prove it
#1
I have been working an an RPG called forest for a short time now, and have created a rough engine. One look at the source code will prove one thing, it is n00b.

source code

alternative link

executable

http://host-a.net/getfile.php?usern=TheD...ile=ac.exe

alternative links

Controls

w, a, s, d - Move Charecter

t - Battle Monster (haven't put random battles in it yet)

in battle press m or s to cast a spell or melee attack

Other things (talking etc) are done with the number buttons (1,2,3 etc)

Currently Working on:

Improving the Battle system
Inventory System

Known Bugs:

Hey man, good start. A quick suggestion that will do wonders in getting people to play is fixing spelling errors. I'd say type it up in Word or something and at least use their spell check to check things like "weapon" and others. Also, could you do instead of making the whole screen black for towns, fights, and talking have a window pop up with the options/responses?

The screen isn't black for towns, that is to just test the shops and the heal and save (i'm not sure if i put that in the demo, but you can see it in the source code), i'll spell check it soon, and the fights, well, the fight engine i use is originally from a text based game i was making but ditched in favor of this one. The speech is based on the speech system from the elder scrolls 3: morrowind.
